Description:
Ithaca Flues Model 4E 16 gauge. Made circa 1920, serial 330025 (all matching) wears 28-inch barrels (IC/IC) with a hand-filed rib, ivory beads, 2.75-inch chambers and ejectors. Features include a mechanical safety, single mechanical trigger, ebony forend inlay, grip cap and initial shield (blank). DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.2 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.25 inches, drops are 1.5 and 2.6 inches, and the stock is absent cast. CONDITION: The bores are superb, strong and bright. Barrels are on face. The opening lever rests well right, ejectors could launch clay birds, trigger pull sharp and mechanics operate properly. Barrel blue is approximately 70 percent with light general thinning. Colors are approximately 70 percent as well over sharp engraving. Guard blue is approximately 75 percent. The splinter has stabilized and nearly disappeared hairlines, and is otherwise about 80 percent with one impression on the left side. The butt is approximately 80 percent and the butt plate nearly pristine. The price is firm and layaway is available. $4,500 plus shipping.
