This Winchester "Featherweight" cal .308, Pre -64 was mfg ab late 1960. It is to me a stunning example
of an excellently maintained & iconic example of what can be both the perfect game hunter & collector's
piece. The Buttstock has the High Comb (I've been told that this is a "Special Order" type). It has a slight
Burle Tone blending of darker shading to it - It certainly is is beautiful to me) & is 98% w/no handling marks & perfect Wrist Checkering. The Forearm is the same. The gun bluing is also 98% w/no edge wear and includes the Rear White "Diamond" adjustable Sight. The front sight has the original Hooded covering. The bore is perfect w/a distinct rifling (See Pics). It measure "0". The Trigger Guard is also perfect along w/the Floorplate. Overal I would rate it as about in as LNIB condition as any that i've ever seen. It comes w/a Like new Tasco Scope 3x12 - 52 w/Cross Reticiles & Quick Release Tabs(High Power - Very Clear).
I would also rate this Winchester M70 "Featherweight" as an "NRA Excellent". It should appeal to the most discerning Winchester collector.
