The FNX is a polymer framed centerfire hammer fired semi-automatic pistol. Available in several variants all FNX pistols feature an ambidextrous safety lever slide stop release lever and magazine release button. They additionally include a slide with loaded chamber indicator fixed three dot sights and Picatinny rail. Newer models frames come with four interchangeable backstraps instead of two. The FNX may be fired in either single or double action and its safety action is based on the M1911s for cocked and locked carry.
