Period Copy of Smith & Wesson’s Large Cal. Revolver
Here we present a C&R Belgian Copy of a .44-40 WCF Smith & Wesson Top Break Revolver, made circa the early 1900s likely in Liege, Belgium. This is a large, double action revolver with 6-shots of .44-40. It has a lanyard ring on the bottom of the grip. This top-break revolver ejects brass when opened. It was very likely made with the intent of exporting to the United States.
The overall condition is good. Original finish/patina. The action is strong, though the cylinder timing is just a bit slow. The bore is in good condition: reflective with strong rifling. The grips are worn and move slightly on the frame.
