Very Nice FIRST ISSUE Pistol
Here we present an antique Stevens A&T Co. Diamond No. 43 Single Shot .22 Caliber Pistol made in Chicopee, Massachusetts. This pistol was the first issue of one the company produced beginning in 1886 and continued through 1896. It features a single shot of .22 Rimfire LR, tip-up barrel, a built-in extractor, and single action. Pressing the button on the left side opens the action.
This pistol was intended for a very small, very simple target or plinking gun in the early 20th Century. Its small size and simplicity also make it a great teaching tool for children.
The overall condition is fine. Original nickel and blued finish. The action is excellent with a nice light and crisp trigger. The bore is in good condition, reflective with nice rifling. The grips are smooth and solid with the exception of some impressions to the bottom of each panel. A very nice little pistol for trapping and plinking!
