NSN, circa 1861-1865, .58 caliber, 37"" round barrel. Metal is an overall brown patina with scattered staining and pitting. Stock is solid with hand worn usage wear noted. Action functions correctly with matching assembly marks on most parts. The initials ""LS"" are carved into the stock. These imported rifles were used by both sides during the civil war.
