There is no original finish on this gun. The metal has an even gray patina and has been cleaned. Scattered pitting is throughout. Some of the marking have been enhanced. This gun is all matching. This is the earliest complete Walker known. C Company Number 2 is the earliest number, but has a mismatched cylinder. This gun has some restoration. The barrel markings have been refreshed, and the loading lever has been reconverted from a Dragoon style catch back to a Walker style catch. The barrel looks like it has been expertly lengthened, but there is an xray that accompanies this gun that shows no weld. This gun came out of the Paul Sorrell collection. Mr. Sorrell was an expert on Colt Walkers and had 8 guns at one time. It was also in the collection of John Galle. Mr. Galle also collected Colt Walkers and also had somewhere between 8 – 10 walkers in his collection. SOLD Antique: Yes |
