Description:
This is an excellent demilitarized authentic Japanese Type 99 Hand Grenade from WWII. This example is offered in excellent condition complete with pin, string, fuse and original cap. The top unscrews leaving an empty cavity with what appears to be two gaskets inside. There is markings on the bottom of the body. Over-all length 3 3/8 inches. Diameter 1 5/8 inches. Weight 8.5 ounces (approximately). Original fuze delay 4 to 5 seconds (approximately). This grenade was developed in 1939 to replace the type 97 which had a number of operational problems. This will take the first place in many collections.
