***SOLD*** Very Nice, Battle Worn WWII Colt 1911A1, 45 auto, US Property!
This pistol was shipped to Transportation Officer, Springfield Armory in May-June of 1943. Based on our thourough inspection, it remains in all original condition!
It features the "G.H.D" inspector mark of Brig. General Guy H. Dreary. Correct "P" marked on frame, slide, and Barrel. The original Parkerized finish is really nice for a pistol produced in the heat of WWII! The slide has the matching serial number (934165) behind the firing pin stop plate. The ghost number is clearly visible on the back of firing pin stop as well! The barrel is correctly marked "COLT 45 AUTO" and a "P" on the left side of lug. The rifling on the bore is distinctive but it does show frosting throughout!
Correct checkered slide stop, trigger, magazine housing, and hammer. "Crossed Cannons" marked on left side of receiver. All markings are sharp, with no signs of buffing or refinishing! Appropriate Verified Proof "VP" marked on left area of trigger guard!
The correct Coltwood plastic grips, with strengthening ribs, wide rings and mold numbers are in great condition, with no cracks nor chips. Also has a WWII magazine marked with an "L" for M.S Little Mfg. co, Hartford, Conn.
The action is crisp, and fully functional! The bullet ramp is correctly left bright unfinished!
This is a great example of a genuine all original WWII Colt 1911A1 that would make a great addition to anybody's collection!
