This is an unaltered example that has NOT been drilled and tapped for scope or had a recoil pad installed etc. It has the correct checkered pistol grip and checkered forearm, steel butt plate and 24" barrel. and sliding tab safety. The receiver has the neat little cut out with cartridge counter on the left side. It is also fitted with an adjustable correct for the Savage 99 Lyman receiver sight with sight disc installed in the factory holes in the upper tang. Overall excellent condition with most of the blue remaining on the receiver with just some normal thinning/wear to the receiver ring, edges and a bit on the receiver bottom. The barrel has a filler in the rear sight dovetail and shows most of the original blue, exc. markings, tight action, crisp trigger pull, excellent bright sharp bore and excellent wood showing only very light handling. Too expensive to produce today. Unaltered 99s like this are getting harder and harder to find. Nice 70 year old example.
