This firearm has some flaws, but it‚‚s easily over 100 years old. It‚‚s earned it‚‚s flaws. There is a crack in the stock above the trigger, a chip in the butt of the stock and the foregrip has some damage around the screw holes. The reciever and barrel have light scratches, both look like they‚‚ve been reblued at some point. Overall, this is a great piece of American history and will be a nice addition to any collection.
This model was introduced in 1900 as an improved Model 1893.
This is a 12ga. slide action, 30 in. barrel, visible hammer, full choke, plain pistol grip stock.
This is serial# 96828
Over 1,024,700 mfg. between 1897-1957.
This model is marked \"Model 1897\" on the slide action rails. These were marked that way until circa 1912 (approx. ser. no. 500,000). After approx. ser. no. 500,000, the marking was moved to the barrel and changed to Model 97. The Model 1897 was the first Winchester shotgun chambered for 2 3/4 in. smokeless ammunit
