Presented here is an Italian made Modello 1938 bolt action carbine chambered in 7.35x51 caliber. Approximately 94,500 7.35mm Modello 1938 rifles were shipped to Finland, where they were known as Terni carbines (from the Terni stamp with the royal crown, the logo or seal of the Regia fabbrica d’armi di Terni arsenal where they were manufactured). They were primarily used by security and line-of-communications troops during the Winter War of 1939–1940, though some frontline troops were issued the weapon. This particular carbine was made in Italy in 1938 and sent to Finland during World War II. The rifle is in very good condition overall and has matching numbers and the stock is in fine condition. The 21 inch barrel is bright with strong rifling. A period correct sling is included. This fine Italian made rifle would make a great addition to a collection of militaria or a strong way to start a new collection.
