Description:
H. Monk Chester in 12 Gauge. This shotgun has 26" blacked round nitro proved barrels that are fit with ejectors, a smooth concave game rib and a steel bead front sight. The rib is engraved with the makers details. Choked Improved cylinder. The action body has Rose & Scroll engraved with a coin finish. The action is fit with double triggers, blacked engraved top lever with left side checkered thumbpiece and automatic safety with "SAFE" ahead of the checkered and engraved safety slide. Excellent quality walnut stock with English straight hand diamond grip, vacant gold stock oval and splinter fore-end with Anson type push button release. 14-3/4" LOP to a checkered walnut buttplate. It was around 1930 that 2" shells became popular as an ultralight load. It created a demand for lightweight, short-barreled guns. 12 Gauge
