Description:
This is an original U.S. Model 1872 Cavalry Officers Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso marked "Pettibone MFG. Co. / Cincinnati". The grip, guard, and pommel are all tight. The sharkskin grip and twisted wire are 100% complete. The blade is lightly curved and unsharpened. There are some small light age spots on the blade. The scabbard is solid with a few age spots and complete. Both hanger mounts and rings are intact as is the drag. The leather washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 33 7/8" long x ¾” wide. The length of the sword is 39-1/4", and in the scabbard it is 40-3/4".
