Description:
The L C Smith Hammer guns “Made by L C Smith, Syracuse, NY” were produced from 1884 to 1887 when the company was bought by Hunter Brothers. Less than 3000 L C Smith Syracuse hammer guns in 7 grades – F, E, D, C, B, A, & AA were made in the serial number range 10,000 – ca. 25,600. The one offered here is a rare “D” grade with serial number 21088. It is in very good condition except the checkering has been sanded off. But there is enough wood left so that it could be recut. The stock is a marvelous French walnut. The 30” fine Damascus barrels have very good pattern and excellent bores choked full and modified. A nice old hammer gun for your collection that is ready to shoot.
