Description:
Winchester Model 1873 Deluxe Rifle. Serial Number is in 148,000 range. Made in 1884. Caliber is 38 WCF aka 38-40. Special Order Features include extra length 26" Octagon Barrel, Case Color Hardened Frame, Single Set Trigger, Pistol Grip, Checkered, 4X Exhibition Grade Walnut Stocks as confirmed by research request to Cody Firearms Museum. Other features not noted in the research correspondence letter are a nickel plated loading block and a Beech Front Combination Globe Sight. It also appears to have at one time had a tang sight which is no longer present. Trapdoor buttplate and original 5 piece cleaning rod set is intact. A nice untouched 1873 deluxe with 60% case colors and 70% fading blue on the barrel mixing with patina. Most of the screws are caked in old grease and crud...not turned in our lifetime. Stocks are solid with nice checkering. 1 small inert dry crack in the burl running off the left side of the upper tang...looks superficial, running with the grain, and very old. A nice untouched deluxe that was never restored like so many you find today on the market. Fine Bore and Mechanics. Antique, Pre-1898. No FFL Required. No sales to NJ, NYC, DC, Chicago, or HI. Buyer must be 18 years of age. Sorry , No international sales.
