BRITISH 12 Gauge HUNTING/SPORTING Shotgun
Here we present a C&R G.E. Lewis & Sons Double Barrel Side by Side Hammerless Boxlock Shotgun in 12 Gauge, manufactured circa the 1910s in Birmingham, England. George Edward Lewis (1829-1917) was a gun and rifle maker beginning in 1859 and continuing until 1909 when the company was renamed G.E. Lewis & Sons and continued late into the 20th century.
This double barrel hammerless shotgun would have been used for putting game on the table or having a fun afternoon shooting clay pigeons at one’s shooting club.
The overall condition is very good. Excellent action. Mirror bright bores, both remain smooth. This example sports a fine stock with less than average wear and sharp wrist/forarm checkering. Legible markings. Nicely refinished.
