What you are looking at is the worlds only known parker brothers shotgun that has an ELK engravement on both sides of the shotgun. Parker shotguns were Americas premier side-by-side shotgun manufacturer from 1867 to 1942 making approximately 242,000 shotguns. and Their quintessential engraved guns consisted mainly of two bird dogs. This DHE model was specially made by the factory with longer 32 inch barrel's which were not typically offered. It was manufactured on November 12, 1928. Serial Number 228183 is beyond RARE and is the ONLY PARKER shotgun with ELKs on the side. The only other ones known which are very few have an elk on the bottom, not the sides. Its stock configuration was equipped with a capped pistol grip. 1-1/2" Frame, 14-1/2" Length of Pull, 3-1/2" Drop at Heel, Weighs 7 pounds 11 Ounces. 2-5/8" Chambers
This Shotgun has a full article on it published in the Parker Pages, which is the Premier magazine publication of the Parker Gun Collectors Association . (Volume 24 Winter 2017 Issue 4). A very pristine copy of the publication will be included with the Shotgun as well as the factory letter. I am willing to provide more professional factory photos as I am only able to provide 15 photos on this listing. I have a three day inspection of the gun, and I am even willing to travel ( for expenses ) or let you travel to Springfield to inspect.
