The prelude to the famous P.08 Lugar it was designed by Hugo Borchardt with George Lugar as his assistant. Chambered in 7.65x25mm cartridge. 98% bluing remains with some very light scuffing on some of the edges most likely from handling. Bore and mechanical condition is excellent. No pitting, no rust and no gun powder residue suggests this pistol may have never been fired, if only for testing. The first 1000 were manufactued by Ludwig Loewe and Co. and the final 2000 under DWM. Own a piece of history with the first semi-automatic pistol made by the German Empire with only a handfull of guns still in existence. The machining on this pistol alone is an excellent example of German engineering and how modern pistols evolved. It is a real pleasure just to hold this firearm in your hand. Comes with 1893 shoulder stock with cheek piece, stamped in German "GESETZLICH GESCHDTZR". Also included 1893 cleaning kit, oiler and one original 7.65x25mm bullet, must be shipped separately.
