Standard configuration Star A Carbine, caliber 7.63mm, Type IV variation as pictured in Star Firearms on page 437, with 6 5/16” barrel, tangent sight graded 50-1000, frame with trigger cutouts as per Colt 1911A1, straight backstrap slotted for shoulder stock. Left side of slide with usual one line address. Early Eibar proofs on left side of frame with partial repetition on left side of slide and exposed barrel hood. Fitted with bordered Star panels each molded with the encircled Star TRADE MARK. Major components blued. Exposed barrel hood, top of sight, sides of trigger and hammer polished in-the-white. Correct nickled magazine with 7 indicator holes and integral floorplate. Synopsis: Rare Star A Carbine Pistol with Extended Barrel, Tangent Sight, Slotted for Stock, made in 1928 to compete against Mauser C.96 in China during the Warlord Period, total production estimated at 5000 guns. Condition: VG-EXC original finish with expected sharp edge wear. Fading with discolorations as pictured along front and backstrap. Rear sight with discreet repair around axle pin, barely visible on top view, that does not interfere with function. Original grips and magazine in same condition as pistol. Perfect manual mechanics. Bright bore with sharp rifling.
