Description:
** Fine condition & operable English (LONDON) stamped Percussion Sawhandle Dueling Pistol. Maker marked Van Wart Son n Co.. I believe .54 or .55 caliber(miced .540). 9" Octagon Barrel. 15" Overall length. Action functions as it should. The wood has a thin sliver missing along the top left side. Otherwise wood is solid with no cracks. This piece has an adjustable trigger. Lock and hammer nicely engraved. Also the top strap is engraved as well as the grip cap. Grip cap has built in cap box. Wood ramrod sports a Ivory push end. 2 fine lines of gold and silver overlay on rear of barrel. This piece was likely part of a Dueling Set and got separated. I am guessing it circa 1800- 1850's.
