CIVIL WAR Carbine Converted to Heavy Barreled Rifle
Here we present an antique Massachusetts Arms Company Maynard Patent Rifle in .36 Caliber, made by Massachusetts Arms Co. of Chicopee Falls, MA. This started as a light cavalry carbine but has been converted to a heavy barreled rifle. It maintains its percussion breechloader firing mechanism. The front sight is a very fine bead on a post with a tubular hood.
The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The walnut stock shows use and remains solid.
