Here we have a classic Winchester Model 12 in 12 gauge made in 1925. The iconic Winchester Model 1912 (also commonly known as the Model 12, or M12) is an internal-hammer pump-action shotgun with an external tube magazine. Popularly named the Perfect Repeater at its introduction, it largely set the standard for pump-action shotguns over its 51-year high-rate production life. From August 1912 until first discontinued by Winchester in May 1964, nearly two million Model 12 shotguns were produced in various grades and barrel lengths. This particular example has earned some honest wear over decades of field use. The stock has lost most of it's finish but the forend still retains much of it's finish. The 30" plain barrel has a good bore, bead front sight and is choked fixed full. The butt plate looks to be original. The metal has high edge wear and has lost it's finish in places....the area just in front of the carrier has been worn from years of being carried in the field. The trigger guard has been worn to a grey patina. This beautiful Model 12 has been well cared for but used a lot since 1925. The action is buttery smooth and sure. This Winchester has many more years of use ahead of it.....it is very solid mechanical condition....it just has some honest wear. This would be a great classic field gun....an awesome user Model 12.
