Mid-19th Century Spur Trigger Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present an antique E. Remington & Sons New Model Percussion Pocket Revolver, made circa the mid to late 1860s in Ilion, New York with a production run from 1865 through 1873 and approximately 25,000 revolvers made. This revolver was designed for defensive carry and would have been equally at home in a holster, pocket or purse. With 5 rounds of .31 caliber one could get themselves out of most scrapes. This revolver could have been modified to accept metallic cartridges near the expiration of the Smith & Wesson owned Rollin White Patent, which prevented other companies from using the bored through cylinder until 1869. But, it has remained a survivor in its original percussion state.
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Crisp action. The bore is reflective with nice rifling. The grips are solid and smooth with their original varnish. A great little Remington that is harder to find and in great condition!
