Description:
Winchester model 1885 made in 1894 and in a rare .22 Rimfire Long. Heavy, tapered octagon barrel (1.000 breech, .865" muzzle) with a smooth fading blue finish. No rust or wear damage. The bore is rough with a good bit of wear and some pitting in the grooves. The action works flawlessly and the metal is smooth with only some light freckleing that wouldl easily clean. This is the earlier version of ther 1885 and has the flat main spring mounted on the barrel. The tang sight works nicely and locks securely in the upright with a side locking lever. The Walnut stock shows no damage and is very sound. Curved steel buttplate. This is a very sound rifle and would certainly make a great custom rifle in addition to being very collectable.
