Description:
A beautiful early Pre War 70 in very scarce 22 Hornet caliber. S/N 11*** with matching scribed bolt made in early 1938. The wood is remarkable with the brightness, tight grain, tone and streaking typically seen only on these first generation rifles. There are some scattered light scratches and swirls that do not all show in the pics, but a really remarkable 96%+ condition, considering its 85 years of circulation. The bluing is excellent throughout showing at least 97%. Perfect undrilled rear receiver bridge. The mechanical functions are like new, crisp and butter smooth as usual. The bore is excellent and the chamber has never been reamed to K.
