We normally ship USPS Priority Mail which should be 2-day ship. Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Shipping insurance is available upon request for an extra fee. We cannot do international sales. As of November 2019, we no longer ship guns to California and Hawaii.

Description:
Springfield’s new 1911 DS Prodigy is the newest double-stack 1911 on the market. Originally pioneered by Para Ordnance in the late 1980s, the double-stack 1911 for many years was more of a niche pistol, with most preferring to stick to the single-stack types. Indeed, other than Para Ordnance, a double-stack 1911 was usually a rather expensive proposition made by a boutique manufacturer. In more recent years, double-stack 1911s have become much more popular for many reasons. One of these is the higher capacity which allows the 1911 to compete with newer pistols such as those made by Glock, H&K, Ruger, and Smith & Wesson among others. The 1911 DS Prodigy is designed to be a high tech and modernized 1911 while still being relatively affordable. The Prodigy utilizes a polymer grip module combined with a forged steel frame to allow the use of high capacity magazines. As standard, the Prodigy comes with one 17-round and one 20-round magazine in the box. However, Springfield also makes an extended 26-round magazine for the pistol as well. The 17-round magazine is intended to be low-profile, and barely sticks out past the bottom of the frame. The 20-round functions as the basic extended magazine. Optic ready, the Prodigy makes use of Springfield’s Agency Optic System (AOS). In standard configuration, the Prodigy has a rear cover plate with the rear sight mounted to it. Replacing the cover with the AOS plate does not mean the loss of a rear sight. The AOS plate features its own integral rearm sight, allowing for the sights to co-witness with the appropriate optic. The Prodigy ships with one AOS plate compatible with the Hex Dragonfly red dot optic. Other plates compatible with other manufacturer’s red dots are available aftermarket. Other features of the Prodigy include a Match-grade stainless steel barrel, an extended and ambidextrous safety, square cut trigger guard, forward and rear slide serrations, and a long accessory rail. All of these features combine to make the Prodigy a modernized 1911 fit for duty in the modern age.
