About Us: Private hobbyist/collector of mostly pre WW2 military rifles and thinning out our collection. I'm not an FFL so all FFL sales will go through my local shop unless (1) your local and then we can work out something in person OR (2) Your FFL will accept a firearm from a NON FFL. I will not cut corners and will only follow the rules so please don't ask for anything else. I'm open to reasonable offers but don't expect a response if its just silly.
Description:
Spandau Gew. 98 rifle with "roller-coaster" sights, as used in WW1. This particular rifle was made in 1912 (the marking has been mostly worn down and is only very faint now). This particular rifle looks like it possibly has seen some post-war use as well. Has Imperial markings on stock as well as the gun itself. Strong bore.
The Gewehr 98 was the final mechanical iteration of the famous Mauser system. The Gewehr 98 was Germany's standard rifle during the Boxer Rebellion and in WW1, where it was also used in large quantities by the Ottoman Empire. It also saw service in post-WW1 conflicts, such as with various Freikorps groups and the Baltic Landwehr. Some saw service in the Spanish civil war and even WW2!
