Henry Atkin - SxS, Matched Pair, 12ga. 28" Self Opening Action.
Sidelock ejectors, ribs gold inlaid 1 and 2, 2 ½” chambers, choked approximately IC/¼”, top lever gold 1 and 2, auto safety, gold inlay safe, self opening action, based on the Purdey Beesely patent, each gun weighs 6lb 9 oz, comes in original brass oak and leather case, pair was made for Major S.R. Wybrants, made to be exactly like Purdeys. The bottom of frames and barrels are marked “Henry Atkin from Purdey’s”. Double trigger, straight grip, horn butt plates, superb miniature English rose and scroll engraving. These guns are essentially Purdey shotguns, built at the height of gun making in 1920. Drop point stocks, come with factory record confirming they were built the way the letter states, period accessories with original oak and leather case, these guns have gone through London type refurbishment where they have virtually 100% case color, 100% barrel blue, and 100% wood finish. Perfect, tight screws, gun is tight and on face. Being sold for less than the cost of work done on them, and remember they are essentially Purdey shotguns, and they are just gorgeous.
