Description:
This Holland & Holland Rook Rifle is a great surviving example of an old English sporting gun, likely dating as far back as 1883. Its primary purpose was hunting smaller birds called Rooks, which became a great nuisance if left to grow in excessive numbers. No caliber is marked, but measuring the chamber puts the case diameter at .375 inches. A trio of open rear sights serve to handle shooting accurately at various ranges. This Rook rifle would make for a great display piece or a conversation starter for anyone interested in old English sporting history. None
