Description:
General Specs: Ithaca Grade 4, Year 1919, 20 Gauge, 6lb, Chokes LM/IC, LOP 13 7/8", DAH 2 3/4", DAC 1 5/8"
Serial Number: 312601

Ithaca built more double shotguns than all the other makers in the first half of the 1900's, TWICE AS MANY AS PARKER OR FOX…THE PUBLIC LIKED THEM BETTER!  If you study the Ithaca guns and compare them to other makers of the same grade you will find Ithaca provided much prettier wood, fancier checkering patterns, and gorgeous engraving.  This gun, sn312601, was built in 1919 and still retains 85% vivid and bold factory case color and 98% dark factory barrel blue.  The mechanics on the Flues model are rock solid and they are one of the most reliable of the double shotguns ever made.  Just ask any double gun smith that works on a lot of vintage American guns.  They work on a lot more Parkers than Ithaca Flues guns, yet there are more Flues guns being used.  That tells the story right there.  THIS GUN IS A TRUE LEFT-HANDED GUN, WITH LEFTY CHOKES, TRIGGERS, AND CAST.  LEFTY SHOOTERS DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE.  The Grade 4 engraving is stunning, and executed by the master Joseph Loy, as evidenced by his distinctive “hidden” signature on the upper portion of the action on left and right side.  The mechanics are in perfect working order and there is stil most all the gold remaining on the triggers.  The barrels are tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face with perfect shiny bores, tight ribs, lots of jeweling remaining on the barrel flats, ivory front bead and red mid-bead, and no dents or dings.  The screws are near perfect.  Weighing just 6lbs. and balanced dead on the hinge pin, the gun handles like a fine English double.  The wood is outstanding with elaborate Fleur-de-lis checkering and full figure. The nicely shaped beavertail could not have been made better. It is a stunning shotgun.  Even the stock dimensions are favorable From an investment viewpoint, the Ithaca is the best investment on today's gun market, as they have been under-valued for years and have not yet sparked or peaked.  They will over the next 3-5 years, and you can take that to the bank, so-to-speak!  Where can you find a Grade 4 20ga. in high factory original condition for under $5000?  This gun is choked a perfect IC (left barrel) and light mod (right barrel) for your upland pursuits and vintage sporting clays shoots.  The season is upon us, and you left-handed shooters recognize how impossible it is to find a vintage American side x side that is truly built for a lefty.  This is your chance!  Thanks for looking.
