Winchester Model 1886 rifle in the desirable 45-90 WCF caliber. Standard configuration 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine, plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, rifle butt with steel crescent butt plate, blued and case hardened finish, open sights. Factory letter indicates serial number 60128 was received in the warehouse on 8/22/1891 and shipped on 10/7/1891 to order number 12617.
Barrel and mag tube have only 5% original finish remaining, which is patina. Hammer, lever, butt plate, fore end cap and receiver case colors have silvered out, with some subdued/mottled case colors remaining on the receiver. Action functions properly, including the half cock safety. Bore is good, a 7 of 10, with distinct rifling and typical ligth black powder fouling but no rings, no bulges, no deep pits. Original front and rear sights are intact. Fore arm wood is proud and other than a tight 3" grain check on the left side is sound. Butt stock is even with metal and has a 1" grain check lower left by receiver. Stocks have no extra holes and never have been sanded or refinished. Grades NRA Antique Good. Desirable caliber and configuration with factory letter included.
