Remington Model 2 Rolling Block Sporting Rifle, serial number 33863, caliber 32 centerfire, 26" octagon barrel, walnut stocks with perch belly butt stock, S curved butt plate, open sights, blued and case hardened finish, single shot.
Barrel retains 50% original finish that is plum. Receiver shows traces of case colors but mostly patina. Bore is very good, a 7 of 10, and the correct open sights are present. Fore arm retains the ebony insert in the schnabel fore end. Butt stock tight and even with metal. Neither stock shows any major wear or damage, are free of extra holes, never sanded or refinished. Upper tang missing the two tang sight hole plug screws, otherwise this rifle is complete, original and intact. Caliber marking appears on the bottom of the barrel just ahead of the fore arm and the serial number is on the lower tang. Patent markings are on the left side of the receiver, and the top of the barrel reads "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y." Grades NRA Antique Very Good. Nice example for any antique firearm collection.
