This is a correct, late 1st Block Inland carbine that has: a 5-43 dated Inland barrel; "Z" front sight; "AI" flat-top bolt; "PI" slide; "INLAND" trigger housing; "H.I." hammer; "R.I." sear; "WI" two position rear sight; "EI" magazine release. The metal retains 92-95% of the original parkerized finish, with most of the loss occurring within and around the slide raceway. The carbine is fitted with a correct "IO" marked, two-rivet handguard; and a correct high-wood, "IO" marked stock with "I" cut oiler slot. The wood is in very good condition with numerous small handling marks scattered about the reapplied military oil finish. Both the "P (in circle)" proof stamp and Ordnance cartouche on the right side of the butt are still quite crisp and clear. The carbine comes with a single WW2 "IA" marked magazine, as well as an original WW2 C-tip canvas sling. This is a fabulous WW2 M1 Carbine, in fine-excellent condition, and would make a splendid addition to any collection.
