Description:
$850.  Tired of seeing the same common derringers for sale?  Want something genuinely rare? This is a Ballard .41rf, rim fire, rf, black powder cartridge derringer made in the late 1860's / early 1870's. Everything functions perfectly including the extractor. The finish is in overall good condition, and the bronze coloration of the frame is nicely original. The grips have a slight crack but look good and are solid.  (see photos). Bore is fair or better. Has solid safety and full cock positions. This is the only .41 derringer of its kind that can be loaded and fired using only one hand. These were made in small number at the time of the Civil War and are scarcely seen any more. There are fifteen or twenty .41 Colt or Remington derringers on the market at any given time, but this is the only Ballard's derringer listed at present on any firearms site. Antique, so no FFL. Sold as a collector's item only and buyer states that this antique pistol is legal for him to receive and possess where he is located. I am a collector, not a dealer, but trades are possible. Please have a competent gunsmith check this or any other antique weapon prior to firing it. $14 basic Priority Mail. Email any questions.
