We offer you a “High Condition” Very Late Type II Remington Model 51 Semi Automatic Pistol chambered in .380 ACP from 1926.

This Remington model 51 is chambered in .380 ACP which was first produced in 1918 with just 25 units being manufactured. This late Type II from 1926 features the 15 slide serrations, .380 caliber marking on the barrel with the Remington logo on right side of the frame. The top of the slide is marked “THE REMINGTON ARMS UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. INC. / REMINGTON ILION WKS. N.Y. U.S.A. PEDERSEN’S PATENTS PENDING”. The serial number is PA59671, with the prefix “PA” standing for Pedersen Automatic. Since the Remington Model 51 was designed by John D. Pedersen. The right side of the trigger guard has the “Anchor” marking which is an inspector’s mark and has nothing to do with the Navy. The left side wears the serial number and the date code of “AT” on the top of the trigger guard which makes it being shipped in March of 1926.
The pistol is celebrating its 97th birthday this month and still has the original finish. The bluing is in excellent condition with no pitting and very little signs of use. The “Fire Blued” small parts still retain the bright blued finish as shown. The bore is in excellent condition as you would expect considering the exceptional overall condition being so fine. The original grips are in very fine condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. It has the original magazine with no “U” marking on the bottom which is correct. On the left side at the bottom it has the “380 CAL” marking and the 3-pinned base. Overall the magazine is in excellent condition to match the condition of the pistol

The pistol is part of a collection of 51’s and has been sitting for some time. It will need to be cleaned and lubed up before use.
