Payment Types Accepted: cash, check, money order Description: 1st Model Burnside Civil War Carbine. Manufactured by Bristol Firearms Co. in 1857. Serial #270. Excellent shiney bore with scattered pitting. Exceptional condition for a 1st Model. Only the slightest small areas of pinprick pitting on the frame. Frame is more of a silver-gray color. Barrel is a beautiful brownish patina. Wood is unsanded, but I believe has had a coat of oil at one time. A 2 inch crack exists at the end of upper tang, but is not a worry at all. There is an "H 5" stamped on right side of stock. Meaning unknown, but a good guess would be H Co. #5. All markings are very clear. Mechanically fine. Lever has had a repair at one time as seen in the pics. Original sights. This is one great rarity in Civil War Carbine collecting circles. Most collections are void of one and many collectors have never even seen or handled one. Please note the rarity of this firearm. Please call 973-214-3407 with any questions. SOLD Antique: Yes |
