Description:
For sale P56 British goverment marked Carbine in good condishion. It has Enfield 1860 on the lock plate in front of the hammer and Crown over VR on the back of the lock. This is the Type Carbine the Confederate goverment inported during the Civil War. But this gun was in British service and i think Issued to India troops. The barrel is smooth bore and the rear sight is just a blade with a V notch. The British Goverment would not Issue guns wirh rifled barrels to India. They did not want them to have guns equal to theirs. This gun is in great shape lock works as it should . Metal is in the white (no bluing). Great piece for a British collector or A Civil War collector to just have a type Carbine used by the South.
