This particular gun, in the 'A block', was number 7140 of the first batch of pistols. Influenced by the 1935 S, the pistol is larger and has a longer grip frame for a 9 shot in-line magazine. The left side of the slide is marked with the initials 'MAC.' The right side of the slide references the model and caliber. Serial number on the right side of the frame. As typical for many military pistols of this era, it is a single action, locked breech gun with a swinging link and easily detachable hammer group. Fixed front sight and notched rear sight with top mounted extractor. Fitted with black Backelite grips with horizontal serrations. Parkerized magazine with 8 indicator holes and a detachable floorplate marked 1950. Synopsis: French military MAC Model 1950, early production, correct magazine. Seldom offered for sale in the United States! Condition: VG with original parkerizing showing thinning in places one might expect from a service pistol having had moderate use. Comparable condition grips, with scattered handling marks, but no cracks. Magazine with more oxidative toning. Dull frosted bore with shallow rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Missing the buttoned plate for enhanced floorplate retention. A classic French military pistol made in large quantity over approximately 20 years by 2 manufacturers, but seldom available for sale in the United States. ~~Insured shipping fee of $65; most packages shipped using FedEx 2nd Day.~~ SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: MAC Serial Number: A7.140 Caliber Info: 9mmP |
