For consideration is a very nice Remington 760 Gamemaster Custom Deluxe pump action rifle in .30-06 caliber. The 760 is a very reliable and smooth pump action centerfire rifle in .30-06 caliber made from 1952 to 1981. The Model 760 replaced the Model 141 in the product lineup. Being fed by a box magazine freed the design to use more powerful rounds with spitzer bullets. It was succeeded by the Remington Model 7600 series. The .30-06 cartridge is one of the most versatile rounds available for use in North America and it's usually pretty easy to find a good selection of ammunition for everything from varmints to big game. This particular example is in very good overall condition with an action that is very smooth. This rifle is the Custom Deluxe version of Gamemaster and was made in 1981 which was the last year of production for the model 760. The Custom Deluxe features basketweave checkering on stock and forend, Monte Carlo stock with full cheekpiece and whiteline forend tip and pistol grip accents. The rifle exhibits some high edge wear and handling marks but nothing serious. The 22" barrel has a bright bore with good rifling. A Japan made 3-9x40 Tasco scope is fitted into mounts on top of the receiver. Thankfully, both the front blade and adjustable rear sights are still intact. At some point the original butt plate was replaced with a rubber recoil pad....length of pull is 14 1/4". This fine Remington would make an outstanding rifle for the deer woods anywhere in the country....it still has many useful years ahead.
