With INLAID Relined OTTOMAN BARREL
Here we present an antique Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early19th Century likely in Western Europe. This pistol would have been intended for use as a self-defense firearm. It is a large sized flintlock, likely to be holstered or tucked into one’s belt. Its barrel is a long 12-1/8 inches in length. This pistol has a .40 caliber bore and would have been most at home tucked into a gentleman’s belt or holster when not punching large holes. This would have likely been purchased privately by an officer and carried into battle in the event he came in contact with the enemy. Here is a fantastic, scarce and historical likely European Pistol from one of the most pivotal times in European history!
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is bright and in very good shape. Solid stock, a few thin cracks are present around the barrel tang and remain stable. Engraved barrel.
