If you demand only the "best of the best", well, here it is, this "Collector grade" 1965 Savage 99PE Presentation Grade (serial # 1092768) in the very desirable and very elusive 243 Winchester with 22" barrel remaining in "as close to mint as you are going to get" condition, unfired with absolutely killer wood, having tons of grain! The 243 Winchester is one of the most sought after of the three calibers that were offered, 308,284 & 243, in the 99PE and hardest to find, as far as I'm concerned. I have had ten PEs come through my shop over the last four years or so, six were in the 308 Winchester, two were 284 and only the second 243 Winchester in the PE grade. It comes with knock-out wood and full of beautiful grain end to end. Look at the pictures ! The PE was manufactured from 1965 to 1970 and was one of the first factory engraved guns since the 99K in 1940. The satin silver finished receiver has full coverage, factory engraving with a mountain lion on the right receiver and a bull elk on the left receiver. The Monte Carlo stock and forearm are made of highly figured American black walnut with fine hand cut checkering. LOOK at the pictures !!
