We offer you a “FYP” First Year Production Winchester Model 100 Semi Automatic Clip Fed Rifle in .308 Winchester from 1961.
The Winchester Model 100 is a semi-automatic rifle manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Winchester introduced the model 100 to partner up with their model 88 lever action in 1961. The serial number puts the year of manufacture in 1961 making it a first year production rifle. The left of the barrel is marked “-WINCHESTER- / -TRADE MARK-", "MODEL 100 / MADE IN U.S.A.", and "-CAL. 308 WIN.- / -WIN. PROOF STEEL-” followed by the Winchester proof near the receiver. The left side of the receiver is marked with the Winchester proof and followed by the serial number “15786”. The top of the receiver is factory drilled and tapped and wears a Weaver one-piece base. The 22 inch barrel has an excellent bore with no issues. The rifle has an original and correct magazine with it. The bluing shows light use and wear marks as pictured. The stock has some marks and dings from 62 years of use also. But there are no chips, cracks or repairs in the factory stock.
