Description:
Rare Browning B78 Highwall in Gov 45.70 cal. This gun is like new and possibly never fired. It features a blued receiver & blued 24” octagon barrel with a blade front sight & Marbles elevation adjustable buckhorn–style rear sight. Additional features include a half-cock safety & an automatic ejector with an adjustable shell deflector, straight grip stock, blued metal crescent butt plate, and low-profile sling swivel bases with quick disconnect sling swivels. A modern scope can be installed using the existing factory mounting holes that are drilled and tapped in the receiver and barrel. The trigger is adjustable using a standard 1/16” Allen wrench. The rifling twist rate is 1:20. This rifle is an updated copy of the Winchester Model 1885, designed by John Browning, and was produced by Miroku of Japan for Browning. The B-78 was produced between 1973 and 1982, the serial number of this rifle indicates it was produced in 1980. The furniture is dark walnut. Same price as a Henry, but three times the quality and value.
