Description:
This 1898 Smith is 100% original with no touch-ups. The exception might be the forend insert of duaI colored wood which is installed perfectly and which is attractive and may or may not be facrory. I do not see a single flaw inside the bright bores. Thirty inch barrels are F&F. AE. I am not an expert on wood styles, check out the photo's for yourself but it appears to be circassian walnut. The early tight scroll engraving doesn't have a hitch in it and depicts the desirable quail and woodcock. Delux original checkering. The damascus pattern is thinning around the breech end and carry area. There is some case colors in protected area's. From the front trigger to the end of the wood measures thirteen and one-forth inches. Weight is 7 lbs. 6 ounces. I left the old (and possibly factory original) butt pad on it for the new owner to decide if he/she would want to keep it or install a pad of their choice. Shipping and ins. $75.
