Presented here is a handsome J.D. Dougall side-by-side double barrel shotgun in 12 gauge. J.D. Dougall is a very small but well-regarded gun maker. The 30-inch Damascus barrels still have beautiful figuring, a 2 1/2 inch chamber, and a very nice bore, and are choked full and improved. The gun uses an Anson & Deeley boxlock action and double triggers. The length of pull for the front trigger is 14 3/8 inches and the rear is 13 1/2 inches. The beautiful stock has a drop of 2 1/8 inches at the heel and 1 5/8 inches at the comb and cast off of 1/4 inches. Both the stock and splinter forend have nice figuring and hand-cut checkering. Ammunition for this gun is still offered by a few companies. This fine J.D. Dougall side-by-side shotgun would make an outstanding addition to an existing collection of fine classic European doubles or a strong way to start a new collection.
