This is a 1945-dated carbine with "M/47C" manufacturer code (BSA – Shirley), and retains 80-85% of the original blue finish, with the balance of the metal turned to a mellow plum-brown patina, some silvering along the exposed edges and bearing surfaces, as well as some gray fading at the conical flash-hider and front sight base. The matching numbered bolt matches the condition of the rifle, and has streaked pewter gray metal along the body. The forend, handguard, and buttstock have numerous handling marks and blemishes throughout, while the metal furniture have an overall plum-brown patina. A correct, but mismatched magazine is included. Also included is an Ishapore-made, Indian No. 5 Mk. II knife bayonet that measures 11 3/4" overall, with a 7 7/8" single-edged, clip-point blade with single stopped fullers. The blade and hilt furniture retain 95-97% of a salt-blued finish that has begun to turn purple on the hilt, and the wooden grip panels are in fine original condition. The bayonet is housed in a black-painted scabbard with khaki canvas frog. This is a neat WW2-dated Jungle Carbine, and is in very good-near fine condition overall.
