Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: For consideration is a very nice Colt Python double action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum caliber. The Colt Python is a .357 magnum caliber revolver manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut. It was first introduced in 1955, the same year as Smith & Wesson's M29 .44 Magnum. The Colt Python is intended for the premium revolver market segment. Some firearm collectors and writers such as Jeff Cooper, Ian V. Hogg, Chuck Hawks, Leroy Thompson, Scott Wolber, Renee Smeets and Martin Dougherty have described the Python as "the finest production revolver ever made". The .357 Magnum is a smokeless powder cartridge with a 0.357 in bullet diameter. It was created by Elmer Keith, Phillip B. Sharpe, and Douglas B. Wesson of firearm manufacturers Smith & Wesson and Winchester. The .357 Magnum cartridge is notable for its highly effective terminal ballistics. This particular example is in outstanding mechanical and physical condition. The cylinder has a mere hint of turn rings and the gap between the front and the barrel is quite small. The 6" barrel has a vent rib, good bore, strong rifling and a full underlug. There is a little muzzle wear and some light scuffs on the top strap almost certainly from going into and out of a holster. The walnut grip panels are in very fine condition with just a couple of light pressure marks on the bottom and checkering is still sharp. Colt medallions set into the grip panels retain most all of their finish. Trigger pull is very good and lockup is very tight in the "fired" condition. Edges of the checkered hammer, grooved trigger and grooved back of the frame are very sharp and sure. The left side of the trigger has one bright spot. Front sight is ramped and the rear is a target adjustable for windage and elevation. This fine Colt Python is in outstanding condition and would make a strong contribution to an existing collection or an excellent way to start a new collection. Box and factory test target are included. PRICE: $3195.00 We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, a dealer of fine firearms since 1974.
