This is a faithful reproduction of the Springfield 1873 Officer's Model Trapdoor. The Officer's Model was a special order version of the issue military guns, available for "hunting and target purposes" under special order. Fewer than 500 were made. The H&R reproduction features similar better quality wood, fixtures and engravings. It includes a ramrod and peep sight. .45-70 Government
