Description:
This is a WWI British Pattern 1913 Bayonet made in June of 1917 by the Remington arms Co. for the British Army. It is 21 ¾" overall, 16 7/8" unsharpened blade. The blade retains 85%+ of original bluing which is lightly mottled and a slightly altered tip. All the British proof marks are correct on one side of the ricasso while the other is marked with Remington, model and year. The guard retains a good portion of the original finish with signs of some oxidation. The wooden handles are tight and in good condition with some small chips missing on both scales with a 7 stamped on the left scale. This bayonet is accompanied by the period correct double stitched leather scabbard marked 1918 and M.S. with most of the orig green paint and double hook mounting system. This scabbard is in very good to excellent condition with a small crack above the ferrule. Overall the combination is in excellent condition.
